Food and accommodations - Can't forget the mundane necessities of life while in pursuit of knowledge!
The Gnanagangothri campus was established in 1962, virtually in the middle of nowhere. Over time, as the campus grew, so did the neighbourhood. Today, Ramaiah Medical College sits at the heart of a college district, rife with cafes, restaurants, and short-term rooms for rent.
We have no desire to confine our guests within the campus perimeter. As they say, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Between listening to medical trailblazers and learning to save lives, be sure to make time to go out and explore Mathikere with your friends!
You can venture out into BEL road for fast food or fine dining, or you can get authentic Indian food within campus itself, at food street. You can also quench your thirst (and your sweet tooth) at the popular cafe outlets on food street.
However, we do realize that not all of you would be comfortable with such fast and loose arrangements. Therefore, we will be providing lunch in the college, from 12 noon to 3 PM. You can stop by the banquet hall within this time frame to have lunch. Other than lunch, of course, we will be providing refreshments over the course of the day.
That being said, please look through the event schedule and plan your day accordingly. No specific break for lunch will be provided so it might be best to avoid signing up for two back-to-back sessions in the afternoon.
As for accommodations, we are unfortunately at capacity in the hostels and will not be able to offer you rooms. However, as our campus is located in the heart of the city, there are plenty of reasonably-priced hotels you can stay at. To name a few:
Holiday Inn Express, Yeshwanthpur
Sanctum Suites, BEL Road
Comfort Inn Stays, Rajajinagar
Crimson Lotus, Dollars Colony
Searches made on travel websites for hotels on "BEL road" or in "MSR Nagar" will undoubtedly yield more results.
